Romantic Leaf Peeping In Colorado

Posted on September 05 2017

Fall is our favorite time for a Romantic Getaway.   The weather is cooling down, the leaves are changing, time for some outdoor romance.  Our planners have compiled their top picks for a weekend away for 2 this fall.

Don't have time to pull it all together?  We do.  Let us sweat the details so you can take all of the credit.

Our Top Fall Picks:

1. Colorado Wine Country

Grand Junction and Palisade are the perfect place for a weekend getaway.  Not only are there countless hikes to take in the change of seasons but you can treat yourself afterwards to some of their amazing wines at the local wineries.

2. Telluride

This drive is no joke so make it a looong weekend.  It'll be worth it once you're there.  There's tons to do, including the free gondola rides where you can take in the breathtaking views.

3. Estes Park

The elk in rut are a must see at Rocky Mountain National Park.  Grab a bottle of wine, a couple of chairs and maybe a snack or two.  In the evening head over to the park and set up shop.  As the light dims, the elk come to the meadows and bugle.  It's a Colorado bucket list item.

4. Aspen

Head up Castle Creek Road with a picnic in hand.  Where the road ends, hop out and enjoy the fruits of your labor over lunch.

5. Idaho Springs

Don't have time to spend the whole weekend away?  Just a short drive from Denver, we love Echo Lake near Mt. Evans.  Drive around, maybe check out the hot springs and don't miss lunch at West Bound And Down - awesome local brewery.

6. Kenosha Pass

A local favorite for good reason.  Take the beautiful ride up 285 and check out some of the hikes.  You won't be very secluded as half of Denver likes to head this way, but it's still worth checking out.  It's a very popular spot for a proposal....in case you were looking.
