The holidays are over and a new year has begun. You told yourself that you would get out more and make memories with the kids, but you have no clue where to go. You're in luck! We have a marvelous list of 10 spots for the perfect date with your kid in Denver right now:
1. Experience High Tea Time at Capital Tea
Act like English royals during Traditional High Tea at Capital Tea. Reserve a 90 minute spot to converse and eat assorted finger sandwiches/desserts made from scratch. Pick from over 90 teas while using fancy china with unlimited pots of tea. They even have special High Teas like gingerbread house making and Harry Potter High Tea! Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
2. Get A Mani/Pedi from Fingers & Toes
Pamper them with a manicure and pedicure combination at Fingers & Toes. Luxuriate together and leave feeling pretty. They have "Little Services" for age 10 years old and younger like the Little Mani/Pedi Package, only $30 for 40 minutes of pure bliss!
3. Search for Gold at Goldstrike Colorado Gold Experience
Go on a gold mission adventure for either half a day or a full day at Goldstrike Colorado Gold Experience. You get to learn about panning, sluicing, and dredging and keep the gold you find! It's educational and fun for both kids and adults.
4. Solve a Mystery at Adam's Mystery Playhouse
Watch a mystery show over dinner. They're the only theatre in Colorado that specialize in interactive shows for children. All shows are G rated and best for kids 5 years and older.
5. Climb a Rock Wall with Thrillseekers Indoor Rockclimbing
Get a great workout together while climbing a challenging rock wall! They have introductory lessons for beginners (age 12 and older) and you get two visits for the price of one plus one free admission. They also have a Belayer's Lesson class for parents with small children (age 5 - 11 years old) where you learn safety skills when climbing.
6. Take On Go-Kart Racing, Bowling, Ping-Pong & Bar Food at Unser Karting & Events
There's so much to do at Unser Karting & Events that it's highly unlikely your kid will get bored. Have a blast go-kart racing each other, then go bowling, or play ping-pong. Afterwards have some yummy bar food at Trackside Tavern and have a drink (12 beers on tap) where you can also watch your kid race!
7. Go to a Mystic Mermaids Show at Downtown Aquarium, Denver
This interactive show will surely excite any kid! Watch beautiful mermaids swim with aquarium sea life (sharks, sting rays, eels, sea turtles, etc.) to choreographed entertainment while learning about taking care of the environment. After the show, meet the mermaids at the meet and greet! They offer Under the Sea Shows and Dining Shows a couple of days a week and on weekends!
8. See a 3D Movie at Denver Museum of Nature & Science
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science usually has interesting and neat 3D movies that are not only educational but breathtaking as well. Right now (and not for long) they have a 3D movie that lets you view numerous national parks and is narrated by Robert Redford.
9. Meet Sea Lions from the Denver Zoo
For 30-45 minutes, be up close to some sea lions and watch them interact with the staff! Get a picture with them after. Their funny and unique personalities will make you laugh and smile, kids will just love this show! Available until March, but there are always events at the Denver Zoo for kids.
10. Dress up like Cowboys/Cowgirls for a Buckaroo Breakfast at Children's Museum Denver
On January 21st come to the Children's Museum and indulge in a big breakfast that's catered and provided by Strawberries Catering. After your cowboy breakfast, the kids get to partake in fun wild-west inspired activities! Have your tickets reserved asap! This museum also has a few monthly events.
